jbordelon 02-28-2012 05:53:23 216.79.148.128 Report to Moderator	Hello! I've been stalking this forum for a few years now. Finally got around to registering. :) Anyway, I need some advice. A rather large tree fell on the back of my trailer and bent the frame down about 3 or 4 inches. I'd like to straighten it back out. I put a jack under the bend and tried jumping up and down, but all I accomplished was looking silly. I have a bulldozer. I was thinkiing about putting the jack back under the bend and setting the blade on top of the trailer to maybe push it down. I guess the best thing to do would be to cut out the bent metal and weld some replacement in there, but I'm kind of looking for the easy way out here. If anyone has any input, or maybe a better idea, I'd much appreciate it! [Reply]   [No Email]

Trying to bend while still attached to the trailer will cause stress and bending the rest of the trailer. cut the piece out make sure the remainder of the frame is squared up. you just need a long tape measure from corner to corner and weld the piece back in. Of course, depending on how badly it is bent, you might not ever get it perfectly straight again. Just some rambling thoughts from a guy who also tries his best to make things useable again.
