Topic: 4 gooseneck ball?

I don't have a trailer for it, but my old one ton has a gooseneck ball that looks to be about 4" in diameter and has about a 1" hole drilled perpendicular through it. The ball can swivel 360 degrees.
Does this thing have a technical name?

| Don't remember the name, but when we bought our first gooseneck in 1970, there were about as many of those type hitches as there were the 2 5/16 inch ball.

| I've never seen a ball that big, but I've seen where the ball was mounted on the goose neck upside down.

| I don't have a name for you,but there were a couple small trl.co's back in the 70s that used a hitch like that.Always looked like it would be a pain getting that pin lined up.We have or had a livestock trucker locally that used a 3 1/2 or 4" ball on his trucks but I never did look at them as to how they were made.
