I've got a '51 International pickup that's been converted to 12V...and while digging through some stuff Pappy salvaged at the shop, I found the Tekonsha Model 2017 trailer brake control that used to be mounted on his '76 F-250. I understand about running the hydraulic line just fine...but does anyone have a diagram for the three wires on the control? Tekonsha website apparently doesn't support "antique" equipment like this.

I'm looking to pull a small trailer with an old air compressor tank converted into a smoker/BBQ rig, and the old trailer happens to have brakes on one axle, so I'd like to take advantage of that. Any help will be appreciated.

You will also need the resistor set-up that limits how much electrical current is being transferred to the trailer brakes. Without that set-up, the trailer brakes will go immediately to full lock up everytime you touch the brake pedal, and I mean full lock-up with the trailer tires screeching and smoking. I strongly suggest throwing that old controller in the recycle bin and buy a new electronic controller.

I have two old hydraulic units and that sounds correct to me too. I tee mine in at the port for the rear brakes on the Master Cylinder. or cut the line exiting the master cylinder and use a compression tee. I can take a pic of my 1979 C20 if needed to show my plumbing.

Charles A COMPRESSION fitting is not legal with hyd brakes. You probably heard this before, but brake lines must be double flared.

It's been a while since I hooked up one of these and this is just from memory. Hydraulic line must tee into rear brakes of tow vehicle. Black-Power supply Blue - control output to trailer Red-Cold side of brakelight switch. Hope this helps.
