Brake dust on aluminum truck wheels

Any suggestions on how to get that nasty brake dust off of my dodge truck wheels?

Just use good warm water,brush and elbow grease.

That stuff is really tough! The company that I work for has a commercial car wash product line. Believe it or not the highest dollar volume product is the wheel cleaner. That is because it takes a very high concentration of a highly caustic product to get them clean in the 8-12 seconds before the prewash goes on the whole car in the tunnel. For sometime now most aluminum wheels have had a very durable plastic finish that is impervious to caustic so go ahead and hit them with oven cleaner.

I did try most of the brand name cleaners but found OVEN CLEANER works best. I purchase the spray cans.

Kid Shileen, Do you mean oxalic acid? That is used in commercial laundries for removal of rust from fabrics.

Mr Clean Magic Eraser scrubbing pads will clean wheels like new without any sprays, wheel cleaners, soap , Comet or acids. Wet the wheel and scrub it with Magic Eraser, then rinse off...does an excellent job.
