Box O goodies

Bought this box of stuff from a guy on CL. Saw the ad and couldn't get over there fast enough. Guy was wanting $15 for it and I didn't have the stones to dicker with him. Got everything figured out except the four pieces that have the 4 lugs on the ends, there are 2 sets of each size. It kind of looks like a wrench for remover barrel bungs??? They are on the left side of photo under the hones.

You made out like a bandit! I can not help you though with the tools you can not identify. I have seen them before but can not remember their purpose. At best guess they are either barrel bung tools or for use on the toothed/tanged retainer rings used in some axles and bulk head pipe fittings.

Man I got them from was 65 years old and from a very affluent neighborhood here in central Indiana. Told me they were from his brothers estate and didn't make the sale. I kind of believed him, he just wasn't the type to be dealing with stolen goods.

OK. I wonder how much "hot" stuff actually gets sold that way though? When my son's TV was stolen, the cops told him to keep checking CL and see if it showed up there.

You should have at least offered to buy him a cup of coffee or something stronger. Good deal. The pullers in the pics are worth a whole lot more than thet.

Local shop here had a bunch of stuff taken. Much of it is on a facebook sale site. Local cops won't do anything unless they can positively identify it. Ie. serial numbers or other permanant marks.

Which reminds me I need to finish tagging my tools.

Yesterday I sold this old tool box full of tools for 150.00 on CL to a tool collector in my town. I know there was an ivory folding rule in there.
