Don't miss College of the Ozarks. They have a large museum and it is a work college, takes no government funding (I think that's still true). One floor of the museum is all guns, the lower level has a bit of everything, including the Beverly hillbillies car. They've added a tractor museum down on the ag end. Good restaurant on campus as well as lodging. Could spend a day there. My wife and I will probably be going in the fall as it's her 40th after graduating down there.

SILVER DOLLAR CITY. Free show at 6 pm I believe. If you pay after 3 you get the show and can come back the next day to finish taking it all in. Barbra Fairchild free show with meal at Golden Corral.

It is a show, but the Dixie Stampede is fantastic, great food and show.

There is an old car museum there, nice collection of old cars, their tractor collection is pretty poor.

Beautiful deep lake there.

Been to Branson several times, always ready to go back. Car tractor/museum has been the only disappointing attraction...cars were fine, but tractors...no. Outrageous prices, then I found out that tractors were on loan, prices were set by owners. But original, no...a WD Allis with an alternator, and priced at $4-5 grand? Other tractors similar. Branson has about 150 shows...always a great time, will go back again this year, and beyond.

I agree with the College of the Ozarks. I had three daughters go there. They have neat museums. One has barbed wire. I didn't know they made so many types of barbed wire. Tractor museum is nice too. Good food. Great place to stop and see. They are at Point Lookout MO.

I agree, you can probably spend a day or more at the two museums at C of O. I usually go every fall too, this will be my 43rd. It was S of O back then.

There are many shows and lots of other attractions. Get a map when you get there. Most places have them. The roads are color coded on the map. Take the side roads which will save you time getting around. There is a locomotive train ride with dinner at the East end of all the attractions. Well worth it. The Dixie Stampede is well worth the money. You'll eat like the cowboys without any utensiles. You get a small whole chicken to eat, no kidding. Titanic museum is neat. Silver dollar City is good and on your way out of there be sure to take the cave tour. It's incredible. A tram brings you out of the cave at the end. It's a 3 mile walk. The entrance has an awesome view. The "Sheppard of the Hills" is a MUST SEE outside performance. If you don't see that you didn't go to Branson. You can spend 3 days in Branson and not see everything that's for sure. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with anything you see there. We were there about 3 years ago and some of the places were still closed from a tornado that went thru there the year before.
Must See This Show

Last time I went through Branson all that was there was Silver Dollar City. Branson was just an insignificant bump in the road.

(quoted from post at 05:05:05 03/31/17) Last time I went through Branson all that was there was Silver Dollar City. Branson was just an insignificant bump in the road.

My mom and step-dad went to Silver Dollar City when it was mostly crafters making handles, wooden shingles, coffins, wagons, etc. The only thing that cost was the cave tour.
