I just got one from Grainger last week. It was in stock and arrived overnight just link normal. I paid $60 but that was with work discount, I think normal over the counter price is $80 or better. If you need a battery pack, expecially if you need 2 of them, wait till you see the drill kit on sale and buy that, battery packs are usually under $50 each that way and come with a spare charger and drill to boot.
Even if Dewalt stops making the 14.4 battery packs, there will always be places like BatteryPlus that will rebuild an existing pack. BUt I doubt Dewalt would discontinue the battery packs evey soon after dropping the other tools that use them. All I can think of is man, we got a lot of Dewalt drills floating around for them to do that.
