I have about 6 of them and the case is 1 inch shorter than a standard 50 cal round. [Reply]   [No Email]

The 105 recoiless rifle had for some models a .0 cal "spotter" round- it was a flash/incenderary bullet load with ballistics matched to the 105 projectile- Marine 4 and 6 recoilless rifle (ONOTOs?) light tracked anti tank rig had them mounted parellel to the recoilless guns- fire the .50 spotter and when you saw the "splash flash" on your target, fire a 105. Army had a single 105 on tripod mount with same .50 round, same drill- fire the spotter that didn"t have a big backblast to give away location and when on target fire the 105 recoiless-and maybe move quick as the opposition then has a big puff of smoketo locate you.
