| You need to seal the floor first. Mix polyurethane varnish 75/25 with paint thinner and use it as a sealer. One coat should do it.
Do that whether you use peel and stick or glue.
IF you use peel and stick AND glue make sure the glue is compatible with the factory glue on the tile. I've seen trowel on glue react badly with peel and stick glue and the tiles slid around like they were setting in grease.
You can use a mop on a tile floor but you're looking for problems hosing the trailer out. |

| I used cheap stick on tiles in the 7 x 16 enclosed trailer we used for kart racing. I painted the floor with latex first. They've held up well for 7 years now. A few have been replaced after getting gouged (my fault). The oil and methanol don't seem to bother it. Got the tiles at Fleet Farm and the paint for free at the local recycle center. I spent less than $25 at the time. |

| I have self sticking tile in our house and they have been in for 30 + years. To get them to adhere properly you need to apply several coats of a sealer to seal the surface before putting them down. |

| I think you can get a checker board style liner for trailers. I've seen it in motorcycle trailers. |

| I doubt they would stick very well unless they were in a heated house. Cold would probably shrink them and they would soon pull loose. |

| Have never had real good luck with the self stick tiles. Floor man said to go ahead and glue them for best results. I did the last time, but have not had time to tell yet. I would think that due to the flexing of the floor in a trailer that they would not stick real good. Just my opinion, have not heard of it being done. |
