Not quite on the subject, but I always thought a crossbow would be a helluva weapon for guerilla warfare. You could sneak around and take out enemy sentries (and others) and there would be no way they could pinpoint your location. |

| Crossbows were used some in Viet Nam as you suggested- but it more of a lack of silenced firearm or any other fire arm for everybody in squad situation. Some pictures maybe of a Huey that got stuck with a VERY large crossbow bolt 1969- A brother in 7th calvary/1st Airmobile said it happened a couple times, best LZ for attack got covered by whatever Charly could get. | Have you ever shot a crossbow??? If not maybe you should. They make a loud noise the moment you pull the trigger or at least the ones I have owned or handle all did so yes you could be pin pointed pretty easy plus they are hard as heck to cock unless your a big very fit man. I have problems cocking mine and that is with a rope asset |
