It bails me out all the time!

Pulled the welder out of the barn today after it had been sitting for months and while it started right up and ran fine it wasn't making any weld or auxillary power and would not idle down.

Spent a few minutes searching the net and found a forum discussing my Hobart Champion 16 with the same symptoms and found what to do to breathe it back to life.

I guess the communicator rings oxidized while in storage and with a polish job she's back to arcin' and sparkin' again.

There's no telling how much time and money the knowledge and experience shared on these internet forums saves each and every one of us.

it can be used wisely. case in point-wife's 04 ford f150 a/c compressor would not come on. as it is not driven very often i assumed it was low on freon. fearing a costly trip to the dealer i starting searching the internet for possible causes. read on an f150 site about the problem and possible solution: disconnect battery leads for a few minutes and then reconnect. a/c back to working like new-go figure.

Ain't it the truth. Saved me a visit to the dealership with the wifes car last week. I was stumped. An hour or so on the internet and I found someone else that had the same mystery issue and he explained how he fixed it.
There are some supposed mechanics online who will help with a fee requested, but I'm not sure why since if you have the time and patience you will probably find what you need for free like I did.
