I am parting out an old Compaq computer. Is the part you need the black plastic part that the cooling fan and heat sink clips to. It is screwed to the motherboard with two screws. If that is what you need I can send it to you.old_bc

What mother board and processor is it. That should be the main thing that matters when looking for a new one. You can put in a new mobo and processor for $100+-. Everything should hook up to it unless Compaq had stuff made to be good for their systems only.

You could probably buy a complete motherboard with CPU and fan for not much. Older PCs have very little resale value.

| | I would suggest that you buy a new one. Link below is to a place I buy computer parts from. Just be sure to measure the fan size correctly. Cliff(VA) PS You probably don't need the super cool LED colored fans. Get a cheap one. |

Which fan are you talking about? the power supply fan (upper) or the case fan. If it's the power supply get a new power supply. If it's a case fan, they're about $10 and quite generic. You should be able to get a power supply for $20-50.

He is talikng about the processor cooling fan that fits on the aluminum heat sink. It is a 70mm fan that is under thermal speed control.
