We use Firefox on our laptop and pc. Both use Windows 7 OS. Our Gmail page showing all the mail messages has become so small we can't read it on the laptop. On the PC it's still the normal size. We use the comfortable setting, but we've tried all three on the laptop, and it doesn't help. It seems to have decreased in size over the last two weeks, and we've done nothing to cause the change. I can't find anything that will make it larger, including decreasing the number of messages displayed. Any ideas?

Didn't see anybody list this one (although the CTRL+/- is close)... Hold the CTRL and roll the mouse wheel (one way increases the size the other way decreases)...

Well, Chip, moving the cursor didn't work. But while I was there, I tried holding control and punching the + button several times. That enlarged the print even bigger than it's ever been.
Thanks to all.

Have you tried system restore back to when it was OK?

I find that helps me when I don't know what changed something.

Thanks, Bob. I have tried that, but it doesn't affect this problem. I've found that I can open the gmail account with Internet Explorer, and it's got normal size print. It's only when I open with Firefox that it has the tiny print. So, I guess Mark's idea is on the right track. He suggested changing settings in the browser, but I don't know how to access the settings.

I click on the "View" tab, then "Zoom" then mark the cirlce in front of the size you wish to use (it goes from 50% up to 400% regarding zoom size).

I remember the View tab on my windows XP, but this Windows 7 doesn't have that tab. When I have gmail open, there is nothing like a toolbar showing.

woodbutcher,

That is strange. I have Windows 7 OS too. My tabs located under the internet address ribbon are: File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help.

Maybe try searching Help on how to either "show/display the view tab" or "how to adjust view size".

Woodbutcher,

I don't adjust view in gmail window. I just open my internet browser and adjust in on the "View" tab on that page. After you do it there... any page that you open should be at the larger size that you specified. [I just tried setting my view to 200% on my default browser window... then opened ebay, youtube, yesterdaystractors and they were all at 200% size.]

NOTE: I do not use the same browser as you do -- but it seems like they should all have some type of adjustment.

Can also check in your Control Panel / then Ease of Access Center / then Optimize Visual Display / then select "Turn on Magnifier", which I think would enable you to use your mouse as a magnifying glass when hovered over the area you wish to read.

Open up Gmail and THEN do the ctl+ and ctl- procedure.

Well, since one PC is OK, the problem must be with the browser settings on the other machine. Ctrl+ will make the font larger, Ctrl- will make it smaller. Or go to Edit->Preferences->Content to change your default font size.

No luck, Mark. Whatever is causing this problem is in the changes that have been made to Gmail. It doesn't affect any other programs, so I'm not able to fix it through the browser. The new Gmail does not show its settings for font size, or if they do, they're well hidden.
