Picking up some small branches under the oak tree in the front yard yesterday I noticed these, The tree is loaded with them. Dad and I planted this tree along with 1/2 a dozen maples in my yard 25 years ago this summer. Dad and the maples didn't make it this far. Wish all had been oaks and Dad was here to see this. First year I've seen acorns on this tree. |

| | I was bush hogging between the rows of Walnuts that my dad and I planted in 1995. They are 20' plus. We planted 1300 of them and I think 90% lived. I had to hire a guy to come in and thin them last year, they were getting so thick that they were "self prunning" the lower branches. The trees that got more light around the edges were bearing nuts, but the ones in the middle were not. There are nuts this year, but the drought has casued them to be small. Glad you are enjoying your nuts! Gene |
