Not to highjack LazyWP's thread, but back in the early 70's, Dad had a great battery charger. It was small, about the size of a breadbox. I would guess about 18' long, 10" wide, and 8" high. It had a carry handle right in the middle on top. It was very heavy, probably at least 40 pounds or more. When you hooked it up and turned it on, you could hear something rotating slowly inside, very loud, like it had a bad bearing somewhere. Maybe it did, as he picked it up used at a sale somewhere. But it worked great for years until it wandered off somewhere. I have no idea what brand it was, but I would like to know, as I would buy another one in a second if I ever saw one. |

| Most all of the bigger, starter/chargers have a cooling fan inside, which can get to howling, with age. can't help you with a specific brand, but you might want to try searching Ebay for used battery charger, you might find a reasonable facsimile. |
