Specify the 3 wheeler. Others note the Honda warning about transmission damage possible from lack of lube. I know of a old Harley golf cart trike with tow bar on it and no problem tow since the CVT/belt drive is loose with engine off- no turning, no damage. Cushman rig can be push started, implies tranny permanent connect to drive wheels so wouldn"t advise it with that golf cart variation with 3 speed tranny. Maker of trike says don"t tow, then I"d probably not tow it until reason is known and possible alternat method figured out- old Harley servicar/police trikes had use as comeback from delivery of large vehicle and the factory had tow bar hitch for front end, shift catch to stay in neutral. Chain drive to transmission and output drive shaft would stir the oil in transmission. Finding a discontinued about 1980 Harley trike is easy- first get $10,000.00 in hand--- but you said you couldn"t afford new 4 wheeler so maybe better look for old Golf Cart trike for $500.00 that needs rings and belt. You"d have a 2 bushel basket hauling capacity also. Minor tease- but a lot of the old trike golf carts are used for field transport and back to home- in a few states the are road legal as a "Moped or similar" class since as 3 wheels they get put into "Motorcycle" legal vehicle class and allowed on city streets, side roads- and legal for cities to use for meter maids and police, the law allows the rest of public same loophole for use- think Illinois "truckster" definition that lets Police use trikes without "motorcycle" drivers license endorsement or wear DOT helmets- the law doesn"t exempt the police from motorcycle laws, but a "truckster is not a pasenger carrying motorcycle- it is by definition a "light commercial vehicle" and operator/driver is therefore not riding a motorcycle requiring a motorcycle license(which most Chicago police officer trike riders didn"t have) or equipment.

Steve - there's a couple of guys on here that tow their three wheelers. I was gonna make a little tow bar for mine, but I noticed that they discourage towing them in the owners manual. Here's a copy of the warning, under the second "caution". Use your own judgement. . .

I copied these two pics to my hard drive. Hope the owner (Delta Red?) doesn't mind me posting them.

Sounds like all you gatta do is start the engine and let it idle while you tow it.

I put trailer hitch balls on my equipment and put my four wheeler on a snowmobile trailer and took with me.

Just let it idle while you tow it.
