Once you get it settled see if they have a way to set up your account where nothing can be changed or added by a third party without your written consent. I had to have mine done that way years ago after having my LD carrier changed without my authorization along with some other hiky stuff that they had allowed to go on that I didn't catch. Wound up getting nearly $600 refunded when they got it all straightened out but it took staying on them and hounding them til they got it done.   [Reply]   [No Email]

If on average, 50% of the people pay the bill without reading it then they can slip all kinds of dubious charges in. Wal-mart has it down to a science, overcharge everyone anywhere from a nickel to a dollar depending on how many items they have -- most people are not going to go over the register tape item by item right there at the counter or stay around to argue over a quarter and Wal-mart knows that.   [Reply]   [No Email]
