Okay, I know I can clear google search history by clicking the arrow down on rught of search box. It drops down 10 or 15 of the recent searches which I can then clear. But how do I find all my searches and clear them. I like to look and see what the kids have been searching. My right arrow down used to drop down ALL my searches which would scroll down forever, but that feature is gone for some reason and only the recent ones show. How do I find them and clear them.

Hi Tom,

Anyone with a puter using XP or Vista should be using user accounts. If you have NOT been using user accounts, reformat the hard drive and start from scratch then set up user accounts.

Admin (thats you Dad/Mom) never goes on-line, period. This is your total control account that your kids will never see unless you give them your password. From here you can track and see every thing your kids are doing, on or off line. There is no such thing as 100% privacy on a puter, but it's closer.

"limited user accounts" are accounts that go on-line with limited puter control. You can have 10 user accounts, more if you change the Ms control. You can not install software, read or change other users accounts or files or change system files.

So, you have each child and Dad/Mom, set-up there own account and password. Admin creates the "limited accounts" then each user can tweak "there" account too there liking.

So why set up a Dad/Mom limited user account for on-line use? So other puters can not change your system files. You can even lock out Ms changes, "well some Ms changes", under the Admin account.

Back up your system files and users accounts too the "public folder", once a month, then transfer those files to a back up hard drive that stays off line, (less than $100 cost). This keeps you from having to recreate user settings and files after a HDD format. Do not use MS back-up as it will/can glitch often. Drag and drop the public folder is just as quick without having to hunt where you stored your files.

Reformat your hard drive twice a year, period.

A $400 laptop with 2g ram, will handle 3 users easy at the same time. 4g ram would be better.

Read your help files for more info.

If you have xp then click on tools, the dropdown commences with browsing history, click that, you now have "Delete browsing history" you can delete temp files, cookies, history, form data, but don't touch PASSWORDS. Give the Children some leeway, you may be better contented if you don't know what they have watched. The easiest way is to ask..

google retains that info forever. Google wants to be the clearing house of the world. This all comes from them.
