Brake Controller

On a 1993 ford f150 I wired up a brake controller. Checked and made sure I did everything right because now the abs light blinks in the dash. Found that the fuse for the abs blows ever time you press the brake. I tied into the brake switch green wire on the truck that goes to the control for the brakes which is the red wire on controller. And when you unplug the wire the light doesn"t blink and the fuse don"t blow. So the only thing I see is a bad controller it must be back feeding and causing the fuse to blow. I believe it is fuse number 13 15amp fuse.

Was the brake controller an older one?. I don't remember when, but about that time they changed the controller and the older ones would not work on an ABS.

what model / age of controller do you have.

all my controllers just have power / ground, brake power out, and brake line sense.

the brake line sense , inthe manual, talks about 2 different types of setup.. are you sure you are using the correct wires?

The controler should have
Hot wire-red
ground-white
brake power feed-blue (larger than the other three)
brake sensor-yellow (wired into the brake light circuit) perhaps you have this wire tapped into something else.

Put a new controller from Napa on my F350.The Controller is from Reliance. 12V power is direct from the Battery with a 30 AMP Fuse in line. Works great with my 12K pound two axle fifth wheel trailer. Many miles and stops since instalation and still works great even coming off Wolf Creek and other Passes in Colo.
