I want to build a landscape rake - the kind with large curved tines that are about 16" tall.

But I can't find a source to just buy the tines. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
KEG

Keg,
I needed to replace a couple of times for my Land Pride 7 footer, and ordered them up thru the local farm fleet. If memory serves me, I paid about $6.00 per tine, not including freight.

If you figger 42 tines for a 7 footer, it would run you about $250.00. The whole rake ran me about $450.00 2 years ago.

Click on the link to find the Land Pride "Dealer Locator" and go from there. Lots of good pics of the assemblys along with part numbers.

My nickels worth,

Scott

Since your building the rest of it, buld the tines. Just need some 1/4X1" bar stock, sawzall, a vice and a hammer.

Building your own tines, requires either T1, or
better yet an AR series steel.

no theres more to it than that bill, tines are heat treated like a spring, if they were just mild steel they would bend as soon as ya hit something like a rock, they need to be springy, thats the whole point of the teeth, otherwise ya might as well just use a straight grader blade if the teeth arnt gona flex

Market is right and by the time you buy the rest of the material and consider your labor-unless you have nothing else to do- you are better off to go with something like land pride.
