I do not buy the kits as I have a mill and a lathe so I build most of the parts I need. The only thing I do buy is the demand regulators. I had about the same experience with a Ice Storm power outage as the other posted. I have a 5000 Watt Winco/11 HP Briggs set-up from the factory for LP. I ran it for six days from a 250 gallon LP tank. This generator was saved from a salvage yard by a buddy of mine. I was using MOBILE ONE 10W-30 oil. I ran it the six day with oil checks a 12 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 Hours, and 48 hours. Why I stretched the oil check intervals was I was NOT seeing any oil usage at the 12, and 24 hour check. This was four years ago. About a month ago the weather guys were predicting either a blizzard or an ice storm hear. I fire up this generator. She ran well and it still has the same MOBILE ONE in it that was in it four years ago. Kent [Reply]  [No Email]

We had a serious ice storm, hooked the generator to a 500 gal. tank and let it go, would shut down each morning to check oil and fire right back up. Changed oil every 100 hrs, still looked real good. Ran for three weeks that way, NO problems. [Reply]  [No Email]
