Hi, I am wondering if anyone has read in an IH book the reason behind the Brass crank handle on the 1945 LB engines? I have heard of brass hopper covers also. I have heard people say the reason was the end of the war, or the 10 yr production anniversay of the LA & LB engines. With that being said how much more is a 1945 LB worth with a brass crank handle? I would assume it depends on how bad I want the engine. Thanks |

| Don't think there was any original brass hopper covers. There is a alot of repros made of brass. As for the handle there is really no signifigance, not sure why some are brass. They are not worth any more than the cast handles |

| Travis are you located in Southern MN? I think I may have purchased my first LA from you ten years ago through Tony. |
