I have a Maytag Twin engine that the ignition system does not work. Coils for this engine are expensive and hard to get. I'd like to run the engine. Is it possible to rig up an ignition system using a 12 volt car battery and coil and use the ignition points in the Maytag to fire the motor? Anyone have a schematic on how to do it? I know it's not original but I'd like to see the engine run. Thanks for your help. |

| Coils are not "Hard to get", just cost a lot. Find a copy of "Gas Engine Magazine", several venders selling coils. |

| One wire (not spark plug wire) is broken off and the coil insulation is crumbling off. No spark at all. |
