This tractor steers too hard and I am thinking of putting power steering on the tractor. I wonder what kind of pump someone used and also the motor? How is everything mounted on the tractor? |

| Won't work because of the way the steering mechanism on the JD is built. Check the 90 wt. oil in the steering sector and the thrust bearing in the bottom of the pedestal. Has anyone greased the bottom bearing fitting lately? |

| Actually you can put power steering on it. You have to cut steering shaft and coupler steering motor to it and add a hydraulic pump that runs off of magneto or distributer. Lots of people have done it. |

| Thanks Gene. We put a new sector gear in and re-adjusted the accentric. Also put corn head grease in the steering box.Bottom was greased regularly. (The gear was badly worn). The steering is much better and now satisfactory. Thanks, Myers |
