I have a 600 Ford tractor with the 4 speed tranny, and 3 point hitch. I was using a 5 ft. rotary mower in my trees and everthing was working fine. Then oil started to come out of the shift lever boot. I checked the hydraulic fluid and it didn't show on the dipstick, so I opened the tranny fill cover and it was full to the top. Is there a seal or o-ring in between the tranny and the center section that allows the oil to leak into the tranny? Or is there a return line that is leaking? Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

| | ditto what old said. you have a perforated tube. not a super easy fix. there are some options to sleeve the tube with an epoxy covered piece of tubing.. but it not a guaranteed fix. |

| You will get more and better answers if you ask this in the Ford Forum. That said you may have a hole in the pump return line which is over filling the transmission since both pressure and return lines run threw the transmission housing. If it was a bad seal then you would be ok and in this case a bad seal between the transmission and hyd stump would be a blessing since the hyd fluid would go into the hyd stump and you system would still work ok |

| I was afraid it was something like that, meaning a perforated pipe. If a guy was to fix it the right way, how do you fix it? Thanks for all your help. |

| I have never fixed one but from what I have heard it is not fun or real easy. Best if you go down the the Ford forum and ask |
