Has anyone here ever used electrolysis to clean the rust out of a gasoline fuel tank? Mine is slightly rusted (no caking).

Don't know why it wouldn't work, but you'll need to need to place the anode inside the tank, and I don't know how succesful it will be removing the rust from BEHIND the baffle (if it has one). For sure it would be an interesting project.

I have used it on a John Deere tank. I had good results doing it that way. I found some holes, brazed them up and used it. I didn't use a coat inside it. still good.
