Shannon Robinson 05-31-2012 10:15:26 75.88.126.222 Report to Moderator	I have been around tractors for 10+ yrs. and have done some maintenance, just want to make sure I get this right in my head before attempting. I have a Ford 4000 with CAV pump and the service manual. The pump leaks like asieve and I will be replacing with a new one. From what I can tell, the pump is timed internally and as long as I line it up when reinstalling a new pump, it should be fine as long as I set the timing marks to the zero. I had an international years ago that was not like this and didn"t know how to time it. So according to the book after cleaning outside, 1.) disconnect all the lines 2.) remove the cover plate from in front of the pump and then remove the 3 bolts holding the pump in place 3.) unbolt injection pump from engine front plate (I am guessing these are the screws on the opposite side where the pump is) IT says the pump drive gear will remain in the engine timing gear and cannot become out of time. So I assume I would just stick the new pump on the pump drive gear and it should be ready to go once I bolt it back on in the reverse order while lining up the "O" mark on the front plate and reattach all the lines.
