Bad condenser will cause that as will a coil going bad in the mag. If it is a carb problem if choking it helps then your carb is set to lean. But I would say more likely to be a mag problem. And by the way there is no need to run the high test fuels in that tractor they where made to run on some of the worse fuel made back in the day and where made to burn just about any thing that will burn. I own a 1935 JD-B so yep I understand them well and it has been in the family since 1940 when my grand father got it and I even have the owners manual that came with it when it was new
