I have small home workshop. Like to clean up farm equipment for restoration. I have done 2 CASE tractors, a Cub Cadet lawn tactor, a two- row JD corn planter and other small stuff. I use degreaser, wire brush, angle grinder with wire brush, and tumble small parts in a home made tumbler. I am interested in sand blansting some of the parts, get into corners that I cant get to. Any suggestions on what I need? Size of compressor? Small sandblaster set up? I have never done it before and need to know what I need? I am thinking ahead for future projects...Thanks in advance...DS |

Not if your compressor runs in oil. Need an oil-less if you going to breath with it. Check out the Hobby Air, or Pro Air like thesehttp://www.clmcenterprises.com/ |

| You need at least a 60 gallon air compressor, I was using a small on and just went to a craftsman 60 gallon with much better results. I am restoring a John Deere planter (246) and I was able to put some of the parts inside my blast cabinet that I got at Northern tool. I will use a canister with sand for the main part of the planter |

| what do you do to breathe under the hood? I can't get a good breath with my hood on. It's the cheap one that comes with the blaster. Is the another choice that doesn't break the bank? Is there an option of using my air compressor somehow to give me air and the blaster air at the same time? |

| You simply need to match the blaster need to what the compressor can provide. Look at required cfm on the blaster vs what a compressor can provide at the needed cfm and pressure. |
