After reading earlier posts I now believe I have a Ford 4400 with a 735 loader. I'm guessing the year to be 1966 for my tractor and the old hoses are very hard and brittle. Does anyone know what size hoses were used on this loader, and a good place for replacements? |

| But don't be surprised if the new hoses aren't exactly like the old ones, and you have to buy some extra fittings to adapt them. Ford used proprietary ends on the hoses on my 340 industrial tractor, that apparently aren't available anymore, even from a Ford dealer, so we had to add some fittings to get the new hoses to work. But they work just fine. |

| | I had to adapt all of my on my 1964 4000 Industrial with 724 loader and 723 backhoe. Those weird ends are not proprietary. They are a standard British BSP hose-ends that are not very common around here in the USA. You can order the new crimp-on ends from many places - but it's not worth the bother and expense. You can buy adapters for $4-$5 each that convert the British BSP ports on the loader over to standard tapered pipe thread and then use cheap, premade hoses. Those premade hoses are often 1/3 the price of a dealer-made hose and often have a higher PSI rating. |

| Thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping that someone that has experienced my particular situation could tell me exactly what inside diameter hoses were originally used. I found a supplier online that has available off the shelf hoses in std. lengths, but in different inside diameters. Living out in the boonies as I do, most things needed are shipped to us. I wanted to keep using the tractor until the new hoses arrived, but I may have no other choice than pulling an end off and looking inside. Again, thanks for the help. |

| Take the hoses off and bring them to just about farm machinery dealer. They will make new hoses for you. If the dealer is not extremely busy, you will be out of there in 15 to 20 minutes. |
