adimatteo 10-11-2009 06:00:26 68.109.113.14 19087 Report to Moderator	I have a 1960"s case 530ck diesel backhoe. The power steering just stopped working while i was driving it. I dont see any leaks. The steering wheel turns round and round but the wheels dont move. It almost appears that they are trying as you can see a nudge when you turn the wheel. Trying to isolate the problem to either the pump, valve or steering gear box, cylinders?? Is there an easy way to rule of any of these? [Reply]   [Send Email]

I did see a few small metal shavings at the bottom of the housing. Do you know where I can get the pump rebuilt or parts for it? I haven't had to source parts for mine other than seals but I believe it is an Eaton pump that was in common use in automotive and equipment applications at the time. Check with a local rebuilder. The problem turned out to be a blown right cylinder so I am having it fixed. I also changed the filter in the pump which was a real mess and falling apart.
