folks...I broke my rear axle on my B414 and could use some advise how to get it all apart. Tire is off and bearing retainer is off on the axle tube. Broken shaft is out.
I understand that there is a large gear inside I need to remove a bolt before the remaining broken shaft will some out. I think I have removed all of the bolts for the 'under seat bit" since I do not know what it is called to access the gear. Anyone have details on this specific section on how to get to that gear!?
I need to get a manual obviously but by the time it gets to me when I order it....will take too long.
Also any leads on used part dealers online would be appreciated. |

| | The tractor junkyard near me has piles of B275s and B414s. They are pretty common. B275 and B414 are basically the same tractors with slightly different engines and options. Industrial 3414 can also be the same as yours, depending on how it was ordered. The guy near me is McFaddens in Sharon Springs, NY. There's one laying in the pile at my local scrap metal place right now. Complete except for the engine. I wish I could drag it home. Industrial 3414 - same trans as your 414. I did get to rob some parts of the hoe on the rear, though. |

| thx for the reply. my local place wants $450 CAN. The NY guy wants $300 US and I can get aftermarket in the US for $300 US new.
I still have a couple more leads locally before I give up and order one. |

| Yes, used prices are high. Much of the aftermarket stuff is actually OEM and made by Mahindra - same place IH-Case gets the parts from. |
