Just curious, i bored out my motor on my super C a little to 3.25 and used those stepped head pistons and also planed .060 off the head. The crank was worn so I had that turned and of course new bearings/ bushing. Assuming I get my timing and carb adjusted right, does anyone know what I should expect for a HP increase. I was right on 23 before. Thanks in advance

A friend of mine and me squeezed out 31 out of a C with a stock head and manifold. It has a 3 1/8 kit in it (flat tops) and a newer Zenith carb with some work done to it and a few runs on a dyno. Still using points!

whats wrong with points? I have a puller running them yet and another with petronix. The good thing about petronix is that it will compensate for worn bushings, the good thing about points is that you can find them at any Napa, farm store ect.

Scott, something Important to remember when you soup up these C's, is to eliminate the sediment bowl, install a cutoff (one for compressed air lines work good) and a 5/8 fuel line with a Fram filter. When the tractor is stock, the original fuel line is ok, But when you start making HP and high load demands on the engine, it will starve for fuel.

Thanks for all the great advice. I did eliminate my bowl last year and put a bigger fuel line in. Although it does throat down as it goes into the carb. I ran Champion 21's in it last year I hear a lot of people say you should run Autolite. Does it matter?

Tim I have a 3 1/4 oversized piston kit with a better head and manifold in a C that makes 45 horsepower at 540 on the PTO !!!

good port work could get you 40-45. head in stock form keeps you in the 30s.

Cliff I havent made it to the NATPA pulls this year. Had to work and my truck had to get the fuel injectors replaced 2 days before Tallmage. How has your Farmall and Case VAC been running. Gave My VAC a good work out pushing snow this week. Always liked watching your smaller tractors run.

The VAC has been home all winter but the Super C is doing well leading 3250 Division 3 points most of the year and in the top 3 in 3500 Division 3

I hope to keep up the momentum through Columbia at the finals!

We missed seeing you at the pulls this winter hope all is well with you!

Cliff everything is good at home. We have just worked alot of overtime this year. Ive got trees cut down everywhere and need to get the firewood hauled home so it can dry this summer. I planned on going to Tallmage but my truck had issues. Im looking forward to pulling with you this year. Good luck with that Super C you always make the pulls and deserve to win it.
