What we do is cap off the line from the priority valve. Hang a Ford power steering pump from the mid sixites to seventies up on the left side up high. Hang an alternator on the right side slightly higher than the generator. Run one belt in a triangle configuration from water pump up to the power steering pump across the top to the alternator and back down to the water pump. It works AWESOME. It works on behlen or char lynn motors. A good ford pump will make 1600 psi while the tractor is idling. It takes someone with some fabrication ability to properly make the mounting brackets. The priority valve can be made to work but anyone whom we have eliminated it for was very glad we did. I grew up doing chores and cutting hay with a 400 and a 450 and own two myslef and am trying to buy one more. |
