I was going through the Tunica pictures posted here and noticed that there seems to be more 2 cylinder diesels than I expected to see. Hardly anyone around here pulls them. Has anyone messed around with stroking a diesel? Do they allow meth?

Also, what is with all of the pipes on this 720? I assume he is trying to let the exhaust gases escape as fast as possible?

I really like this guys setup. Proves once again you don't need chrome (or a hood) to make it down the track.

That's pretty neat. How does it do with the stroked Gs?

If that is stock, what does modified look like?
What was the butchered two cylinder Deere diesel
on spokes? An 80,820 or 830?

Yeah, that 2nd one got there kinda late and had to make some minor tweaks. From what I understand, the sheet metal had to come off and it looked so good (ok, there wasn't time) it stayed off.

I tried to find the picture of the 720(730?) that he killed it at the end and it ran backwards and had a small thermal event but didn't find it. It was on the Green Sled.

Perhaps im wrong but it seems to me like the guy running the
sled is in a pretty dangerous area in the second pic?

I guess about any place on the track could be considered dangerous. These guys know what they're doing. I think everyone should be required to make their sled chain unhook as easily as this one does. 98% of the pullers don't even have to back up for the "hooker" to unhook. This sled unhooks as easily as Cale Mahnke's does.

It may look like he can get hit. But you can"t see the main sled rails to his right. They have a small chain tied to the top of the hook, and when you spin-out and then clutch it. He will snap the hook right of your tractor before you know it. No reason most of the time to back up. Why they make a lot of hooks. I love to hear J P"s 820 pull, it is capiable of putting it"s self in the winner"s circle. Vic

Ive seen a pic of that 720 before and wondered the samething
if its for looks or performance.

As far as stroking you cant on a 720 unless you have a billet
crank made. It would be a lot of work too because they have.
Center main bearing. There are stroked 820's out there some
pushing 1100 inches
