with a 350 motor at 10% over rpm u whould be able to make 50hp with nothing more than good carb ignition and gove, with fire crator pistons and and a relatively stock head

I believe you can get 3 - 3/4 bore by pulling the sleeves on the 350 block.

I believe it is possible..providing you can run higher RPM"s....call Gary Baker he had a set of custom pistons made for me and did a cam also.I am building on now at 195 cid....so we will see soon!

My first puller was an H with an M&W 350 kit, stock stroke, 350 LP head and a lot of manifold and carburetor work. The best it ever did was 53 hp at 540 pto on an M&W dyno. That was over 20 years ago. We were pulling against mostly WCs with warmed over WD45 engines. Won a lot of pulls with the little 175 cid engine that was usually the smallest engine in the weight class. Next engine was a 210 cid with 1/2 inch stroker. It had lots of cam, head, manifold, carburetor work and Murphy's roller rockers. The best it ever did was 65 hp at 540 pto.

Long story short, I think you can get 50-60 hp out of your H if you do a lot of supporting work. Suggestions would be get the pistons up to the top of the block deck, do a performance valve and port clean up. Match ports of the manifold to the head. Use a venturi from a 706 carburetor with the accelerator(double venturi). Smooth the carburetor air passage transition points. Grind down the butterfly shaft and screws to reduce air restrictions. Go through the drive line and fix any bad bearings, dragging brakes, etc. Build a solid hitch that doen't flex and waist your power.

If you have the tools and ability, you shouldn't need to spend money on other people to build a stroker and use the savings to ensure you have an efficient tractor that is able to put all the power you do make to the ground.
