Hudson did do well. A JD 70 won the 5500# open! Jim's tractor is starting to push a lot of blow-by though! After fruitland, he was 1 to 4 against the 600, but now is 3 to 4. the 600 won the 7500 and 8000 open. Heard it was the 600's second time out. Missing gears hurt it big time. They ran 3rd gear in the 5500-8000# classes and actually finally made it work in the 8000# class. I bet they get gearing figured out soon! The w-40 WAXED everyone the day before in Kearney, NE I heard. The weather wasn't much! There were some strong light tractors there (H's,C's, A & G Deeres, and a 70 JD!!!) |

| Yea, thats pretty amazing a John Deere 70 could do anything, but was it a John Deere 70 or a Brand XX Aftermarket 70 with John Deere decals [Brand XX Aftermarket defined by 51 percent orginal weight replaced by parts that never saw the inside of the Deere factory].At what point do Federal truth in labeling laws kick in? |

| Gee, I guess that all the bad Olivers, Cases, Molines, Farmalls, Masseys, use 100% pure factory parts in thier engines made by their own dealers. |

| I'm not aware of an aftermarket block for any of of the tractors you named, only the Deeres do that. |

| A block for any brand tractor would just be the tip of the iceberg when compared against the many aftermarket products avaliable for ALL makes of tractors. Do you look at aftermarket parts as parts specifically used in only one brand tractor which wouldn't be found anywhere else. So the guys that run automotive pistons in their tractors, they aren't using aftermarket pistons? Are the guys that use sparkplug adaptors so they can use a variety of heat range plugs using aftermarket parts? Come on Gary get over Deere pullers cheating by using aftermarket parts. Some tractors in Div II and most all tractors that pull Div III-V use aftermarket parts. |

| I'm not saying its cheating if its allowed its fine, but no other brand is allowed to use a block unless at least had some connection to the orginal company.Try putting a 671 Detroit in an Oliver 88 and see how far you get at most antique pulls, but Deeres are allowed to run recently manufactured blocks that have no connection to the John Deere tractor Company other than being cast to bolt up, this is not useing a few high performance after market parts, this is useing half a newly manufactured and designed tractor in an antique tractor pull.I think the basic block and head should have been built by the company of the same make as what was in the tractor orginally even if built at a later date,ie 310 in Oliver 88. I make the example with Olivers because the 99 and 880 wheatland I pull are both bone stock and run like it,not stating the case to modify them. |

| | burns, Funderburk casts new 7.5" blocks for a G. But all this stuff doesn't apply to just the Deere's. Lemmons is casting new heads for M's, I know more than one guy out there working on new heads for 44 Masseys. I'm sure Olivers will have heads out there soon if they don't already now. Justin |

| See what you learn when you crawl out from under a rock. I didn't realize that Funderbunk is doing that type of work. What is the price for one? I think I will like my .090 block even better when I hear the price. |

| You may have been taught, but its plane that you never learned anything. you must have been pushed out the pond of evalution. Wouldn't make no differnce what tractor I pull, you being a grand stand mecanic, couldn't tell the diff. But just to let ya know, its a Massey 44 with JD B pistons. your turn. |

| | I'm not aware of any aftermarket parts made for the 70, other than a Power Block, which doesn't make a hill of beans difference. You can do just as much with a factory block as you can with a power block. Justin |

| | The only real advantage to the power block is they had a larger stock bore than the factory block and bumped compression up a little. When you get into the big bores though you can get just as much bore out of the factory blocks as you can a power block. So why buy a power block? Not sure. Any power gain you get from them doesn't offset the price of buying one and pistons for it. And besides all that, power blocks are a pain. The pistons have to go in and come out the back of the block. Justin |
