I found a guy that had a set of 18.4-38 BFG Silvertowns for sale. Were these tires radials, and how do they compare to powersavers? If I'm thinking right, these are really old tires and they have thin bars at about 45 degrees. I'm looking for a good set of radials for tractor pulling in the ST. Louis area if anyone know of some. Thanks, |

| Thanks for the info guys. I have the feeling that the silvertowns are one of the best bias tires, but I don't know how they would stand up against the powersavers. It is very competetive in the stock classes around here and the tractors beating me use the powersavers. |

| the older the better kuz their more cured which makes them harder. Ive seen brand new tires ruined by wheat stubble in a couple hundred hours bekuz they were too soft. |

| I like the hardness and the tread angle of the BFG's. Properly prepared they will pull with anything out there. I have a set of 15.5 x 38 that my cousin uses on a DC4 that regularly beat 18.4s on very strong tractors. JMHO, mEl |

| | They should be a 30 degree tread but they would not be radials. Most antique pulls don't allow radials. But then I guess I'm assuming. JIm |
