I would lie under it and study the bottom edges of sheet metal to see where wet dust or MUD is hiding. there are a lot of little places where it can sit and rust from inside. Find these places drill holes and clean out with air or water. When clean spray inside with WD-40, give it a couple hours to penetrate, then spray with aerosol chain lube which goes on thin then sets up to protect. Lift the rubber weather strip at the bottoms of the doors and you will see rust where the outer skin laps over the inner. scrape off the loose paint and rust with a screwdriver so that fairly clean metal is exposed. Spray with WD-40. Give it a day to penetrate then spray with the chain lube [Reply]   [No Email]
kylemorley 02-27-2013 15:59:58 96.61.89.253 Report to Moderator	Re: Under coating in reply to showcrop, 02-27-2013 10:48:34   There are thin film coatings, basically just a very high grade of creeping, clinging oil, but not much heavier than WD40 like CorrosionX, that I like because they can be easily touched up, and are thin enough that they won't trap moisture or hide corrosion, but tough enough that they last a while.
