glennster 09-21-2012 18:46:10 99.90.9.201 Report to Moderator	Re: Clean up of Rust covering paint in reply to MtMan, 09-18-2012 18:50:11   for hands use a product like 3m paint buster for hands cleaner. for paint brushed, generally mineral spirits or naptha. dont use it on your hands. also, dont wash up with lacquer thinner either. those solvents are absorbed directly into your skin, and they are toxic. here is a link to the 3m apint buster. also, you can buy a box of the disposable latex or nitrile gloves and they do a good job of keeping chemicals off your skin. poke here [Reply]  [No Email]

The surface of the paint over rust is too rough to even look like paint and too rough to paint over. Cannot be sanded smooth. It's a "shortcut" invented for people looking for an easy way to respore something. Do it right or forget it. [Reply]  [No Email]
