Not really good, it is alkyd enamel, 1930's technology, and will fade unless inside all the time. |

| It's not necessarily the brand, but the composition. Urethane is the best paint, better than acrylic enamel, which is better than alkyd enamel. The "best" brands are PPG, DuPont, Martin Senour (NAPA), BASF, the high end of Valspar, and others. You usually want to stay away from farm store paint. Some of the paints sold by tractor dealers are "acrylic modified" alkyd enamel. I have never used it, preferring PPG, but I have heard good reports. It will not be as good as urethane, though. My recommendation is PPG Omni or DuPont Nason urethane, the low end of the urethane paints. But they are probably priced at about $150/gallon including hardener, maybe more, but I haven't bought any in a couple of years. You have to add primer and surfacer to that figure. Done right, painting is not simple or cheap. |
