When you painted with the hi-temp paint, did you use a primer first? Also, what brand of paint did you use? Is the ceramic coat expensive?

No, I do not prime them, I am not aware of any Hi temp primer. I do treat the manifold with phosphoric acid before painting to "kill" any rust that may be hidden away in the pores of the casting. That seems to help a lot to keep the rust from coming back. I them paint them with JD black muffler paint.
Works for me.
