I need a paint that has a nice gloss, decent chemical resistance, and one that doesnt cost more than $650. This is a work tractor, so it needs to be durable. I have painted with farm store alkd enamel before, and was not too impressed-- you get what you pay for. I am leaning to Dupont paints. The martin senuor paint dropped a few pigments, and now oliver meadow green is not even close to the corect color.

thanks, cooop

P.S.- pictures would be nice

Found 'em. Here's the codes I used in Dupont Centari. Used a hardener as well.

Meadow Green: 6202
Clover White: LS129

I used Dupont Centari on my 1600. Turned out great, and 3-4 years later, it still has a nice shine to it. My brother did the paint job, and since then has become better at painting tractors.

If you search through the archives in the Oliver board for Dupont Centari, you should come up with some old posts with the codes I used.

I just bit the bullet and had paint shop take a picture of rattle-can ollie green and went with chromabase and clear. It's about what you quoted for money and I just came home from spraying it and am happy, I guess. I also have the chromabase mix for the white if you want it. Fred

Buy the "economy" urethane from a major manufacturer, and primers, etc from the same place. I don't think any tractor color is "correct" anymore. But, you will get more accurate color matches from the high line paints. Also you can have the dealer change the toners until you are satisfied.
