I am just wrapping up the paint job on my 58 Case and am painting the outside portion of the rims aluminum color - I bought the Tisco Alkyld Enamel paint - aluminum colr. I am wondering if anyone is has used this brand and specifically this color. Out of the can the paint is very, very thin and is not applying well with my sprayer. I am wondering if I have a defective product or if this brand/color is supposed to be this thin. The other colors I bought were fine but this color does not seem right.

Thanks,

I have over the years found Aluminum Paint regardless if it is in a capped can or a rattle can to be "thin". Care must be used in application or runs will surely be the result no matter the Mfg'er. For the best results I use a 1 1/2" fine sable haired brush such as one designed for the application of varnish on furniture. This brush can be found where ever min-wax products are sold. It seems to hold the paint better than common bristle brushes.JH

I just recently bought some of it in the rattle cans and used it on some Farmall front rims. Yes, it IS thin, but I've never used ANY brand of aluminum paint that WAS NOT thin. I think that is just the nature of aluminum paint. I AM very pleased with the results and will be using the Tisco brand again.

I got some and it was the same way...so must be how it is formulated. I brushed it on and it looks very nice.
