A good buddy of mine (an ex-farmer - now an office worker like me) was out in Las Vegas at a wedding party a couple of years ago and got to talking with a guy he didn't know from Adam...

Come to find out - it was Jarrod Pakosh!!

He became good enough friends with him - and learning his history with Versatile & family and all - that when he drew me for the office Christmas party last year - and knowing my love for Versatiles - he got me an autographed copy from Jarrod of his book...

That is one of the best Christmas presents I've ever gotten!! :)

Do you know if the 125 and 145 used the same drive train and chassis? It seems to me i had seen a 118 one time and it had small planataries, but this 125 and the 145's i have seen all have the large planataries like the one in the picture.

I THINK it was more that the VERY EARLY production units of any of the 3 models had the smaller planetaries.

"I THINK it was more that the VERY EARLY production units of any of the 3 models had the smaller planetaries. "

I had a 125 versy that I repowered with a 6-71 Detroit diesel. The DD runs 1/3 less rpm than the ford gas engine, so I was looking at regearing the drive axles.
I called the engineering dept at Versatile and was talking to one of the driveline people to learn the brand / model / R&P ratio of the differantial.

In the conversation I mentioned that my tractor was a 68 model and had the "big" hubs with the Versatile logo on the cover. The fellow said that if I had the big Versatile logo hubs on a 68, that it must be late 68 production, and that all earlier ones had the little Clark hubs.

Thanks, i didnt realize they used the smaller ones on the early ones. I was at an auction around 15 years ago and their was a junked out 145 back in the weeds and there was a small planatary laying beside it. The drive train and engine were off of it and it was just the frame, trans and cab. It must have been an early one. It was an estate sale and he had 3 other 145's and they all had the big planatries, he also had a 900.

Thats really neat! I love those old Versatiles.

I wonder if those fenders are factory??

I have a D-145 very similar, but no fenders...

Thanks for posting...

Havent seen it in person, pretty sure someone built them, this picture came off an auction ad. Fenders look like the early Big Buds, don't know if thats what they are off of or if they are home made.
