Got a 4240 plow with a big tail wheel, had a mechanical lift on it someone put the hyd lift on it. Missing one coulter, this is a 3 bottom plow. Put some car tires on it so it moves. Was wondering if parts are still available for the bottoms and is this a good plow? Would like to use behind a White 2-70 diesel. If so where do I set the hitch in the middle of the second bottom and then set the rear tire to go in the furrow? Any info would help Thank you

Welcome to the 4240 crowd. I have a 3'16" hydraulic lift with a large tailwheel. Yes, parts are available. An operators manual and a Plow Bottom parts book are very helpful. You can read the manual online by googling Oliver 4240 plow. This plow was made for a number of years - so there are different manuals.
Oliver plow bottom parts...shares, shins, landslides, and moldboards, and related fasteners are pretty easy to get once you know what bottom you have on your plow. Thst is why the Plow Bottom parts book is very helpful. Other parts like bearings, wheel hubs, and cutters can be had as well. No sure on the cast parts and frame...those may be more difficult.

Bottom parts are available from the aftermarket as well as Agco. I would contact the museum in Charles City for an operators manual.
