I have a 88 motor that will run hot after about 15-20 minutes of running at a idle. Also getting some water in the oil. Could be head gasket, cracked head. What else? Got the motor from someone else so I don"t know much about it no smoke and all the cylinders check out with good and even compression. |

| Take the valve cover off. The 88 will have soft plugs in the head under the valve cover. Check those first. Next thing I would check is the sealing rings on the sleeves. Have you checked the thermostat? |
