I don't know about the early ones, but if I know on the later ones on the right side of the main frame rail the year was stamped. [Reply]   [No Email]

It is not a corn planter per say. It is a single unit run by an electric motor that probably was used to demonstrate the finer points of the Black Hawk planter. I did some free vounteer work for the local ag department and got it for my payment several years ago. It was made by Ohio Cultivator in Bellevue. A man sent me a picture of one that is like this one except this one does not have the press wheel. The magazine was dated 1940. [Reply]  [No Email]

I would think Co-op orange would be close enough for the orange. I have seen one of those before. If you have what I think you have, they were used to check plates to make sure you were using the correct plate for the see you were using. John Deere I know had something similar.
