I am by no means, aquainted with oliver tractors. That being said, my dad has always wanted an oliver super 77. We are going to look at a diesel model today and I am wondering if this is a good model. Mostly wondering about the diesel. Trouble free? Prarts availible? what are your thought Tim |

| Very good tractor in my opinion. Good power and excellent on fuel. Parts are readily available. We've had two Super 88 diesels and we'll never go back to gas. |

| Mike is right, 3-16s is just right for our super 88D in heavy black MN/IA soil. 2-16s would be a good fit for a Super 77, maybe 3-14 in lighter soil. A Super 77 can be built to handle 3-16s but it would take engine work plus plenty of extra weight for traction. |

| | 2 would be a lot easier on the tractor, and I suspect if you're plowing with a 60 year old tractor, its more for fun than production, and getting a little more "seat time" wouldn't be a bad thing. An Oliver 77 diesel is what started me as an Oliver fan. I was trying to disc a rough field with an 8N, and getting the puddin' pounded out of me. Neighbor brought over his 77 diesel, and insisted I use it- And the difference was night and day. Tall, long and smoooooooth- rode like a Caddy by comparison, and I love those 6 cylinders. |
