My friend at work just inheiritted this tractor and has no use for a tractor, and knows nothing about it. It runs but will not steer is all he can tell me. He couldnt even tell me if it was a gas or diesel. I only have this photo he gave me at work. Any ideas of why it wont steer? does it have a three point? How many HP and diesel or not? What would be a fair offer

I am not interested in buying this tractor. It is in Pekin Illinois. I have 20 plus tractors as it is and cant afford it anyway.

It is a gas model. Serial number is on a plate by the clutch petal. That will tell us the year

| | Oliver 550 is a popular tractor- small and nimble, but about 39 HP and independent PTO. As far as value, you just need more information. If it won't steer, its because somethings broke, but impossible to know what it will cost to fix until you know what's broke. Since its got a loader that's probably been on it since new, I'd guess it has power steering- so it could be out of fluid, or a broken pump, or a broken sector gear in the steering box, or, or, or. . . Is it gas or diesel? It certainly is- they came in both flavors. Should have a 3 point- that was standard equipment, and I think I see the arm in the picture. |

Don't let anybody pull your leg, where is it? I've got $1500 cash if it's near me. And that's a serious offer sight unseen.

Now who's pulling who's leg? A running 550, with loader, easily worth $2,500 as is.

Thats what i thought, but I am trying to sell one and having a tough time getting a little bit less than that. Mine needs some work, but sprayed 100 acres a few weeks ago. There are several on craigslist near me for 15-2500. Josh

Looks like a late 1960's or early 1970 Oliver 550. Around 38-40hp. Think most had 3-point hitches..Most were gas, but can't say about yours.Seen then advertised on here from $500-700 non-running to $3500 fully restored in excellent condition. Your loader may add some value to that. Where is it at.

It is an extra set of rear tires that have concrete in the center.
